Sheltered between high, sloping rock walls, where lush vegetation, pools, and waterfalls creates a sense of refuge.

Design for slowed down, quality time
The resort’s layout is designed to bring people closer together. Masterminded by architects U+A with interiors by Studio Carter, the 100 suites and villas and 25 branded residences take inspiration from Saudi’s traditional coastal villages. The accommodations are woven into the natural terrain using naturally occurring topography and locally sourced materials. This creates a village-like rhythm of discovery, geared to welcome families and groups travelling together.

Operation with a low carbon footprint
Powered by more than 760,000 solar panels installed, AMAALA operates on renewable energy with a goal of a zero carbon footprint. Aligning with these standards, sustainability is embedded into every part of Six Senses AMAALA’s construction and daily operations. This includes a desalination plant designed with zero impact on local coral reefs, alongside a total ban on single-use plastics. According to Six Senses, all wastewater and organic waste will be recycled for agriculture and the resort’s organic farm, driving the property on its path to achieving LEED Platinum certification.
One unique feature that sets Six Senses AMAALA apart from the other hotels in the destination is a natural mangrove lagoon. These mangroves act as a carbon sink while supporting the vital marine ecosystems that protect the coastline. Incorporating this environment into the guest experience, the resort has installed wooden boardwalks above the water for guests to walk through the trees. Additionally, it offers a Junior Mangrove Ecologist program for younger guests to dive deeper into conversation.
This eco-conscious philosophy extends directly into the kitchens. Following the brand’s ‘Eat With Six Senses’ philosophy, the dining experiences rely on fresh, natural ingredients. A defining highlight is the resort’s pioneering non-alcoholic beverage program, set to be among the most sophisticated in the region, featuring house-fermented drinks, botanical infusions, probiotic tonics, and signature mocktails.

Wellness is the thread connecting everything at every Six Senses, from how guests eat and sleep to the spaces they inhabit. “AMAALA has given us an extraordinary ocean-front setting to bring that philosophy to life.
